MINI & JUNIOR RUGBY

Start Their Rugby Journey at Cowbridge RFC

Welcome to Cowbridge RFC Mini & Junior section—home to players from Under 7s through to Under 16s.

We are a friendly, community-focused club with a passion for helping young players develop both on and off the field. Whether your child is completely new to rugby or already has experience of the game, they will receive a warm welcome at Cowbridge.

Our aim is to create a fun, relaxed and supportive environment where every player can enjoy rugby, build confidence, make friends and develop their skills as they progress through the age groups.

Rugby for the Whole Family

Mini and junior rugby at Cowbridge is about much more than what happens on the pitch.

We want players and their families to feel part of the club. Throughout the season, we hold social events at the clubhouse for players, parents, coaches and members, helping to create a great atmosphere and a strong sense of community.

Many of today’s Cowbridge RFC First XV players began their rugby journeys in our Mini & Junior section. We are incredibly proud of this and believe it demonstrates the strength of our approach to nurturing home-grown talent and encouraging young players throughout their rugby journey.

Our Teams

We currently provide rugby for the following age groups:

Each team is supported by its own coaches and team manager, who will provide parents with information about training, fixtures and other team activities.

Training

Our training locations change during the year so that teams can make the best use of grass and floodlit facilities.

Spring and Summer Training

After the clocks go forward, teams train on grass at either the Cattle Market or the Police Fields.

Autumn and Winter Training

After the clocks go back, training moves to the floodlit facilities at Cowbridge Comprehensive School. Teams train on either the multi-use games area (MUGA) or the 3G pitch.

Training arrangements can occasionally change because of weather, pitch availability or fixtures. Team managers will keep parents informed of any changes.

MEMBERS

New players are always welcome

Membership of our Mini & Junior section is open to all, and no previous rugby experience is necessary.

If your child would like to give rugby a try, email our Mini & Junior section and your enquiry will be passed to the appropriate team manager. They will explain everything you need to know and help your child get started.
